Role Summary
We are looking for a mid-level WordPress Developer to join our client's team in Kuala Lumpur. This role is perfect for a developer who enjoys a highly collaborative environment but also values the flexibility of a hybrid work-from-home schedule. You will be responsible for both front-end and back-end development, including the implementation of custom themes and plugins.
Key Responsibilities
Custom Development: Design and implement new features and functionality using custom themes and plugins (avoiding heavy page-builders where possible).
Collaboration: Work closely with UI/UX designers and project managers to translate visual designs into functional, high-performance websites.
Architecture: Establish and guide the website’s architecture to ensure high availability and performance.
Maintenance: Troubleshooting, content updates, and security patching for existing client sites.
Optimization: Conduct website performance tests and monitor Core Web Vitals.
Technical Requirements
Experience: 3+ years of professional web development experience.
Core Skills: Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
WordPress Ecosystem: Deep understanding of the WordPress CMS, including custom post types, hooks, filters, and REST API.
Database & Tools: Experience with MySQL, Git version control, and basic server management (cPanel/WHM).
Responsive Design: Expert knowledge of responsive coding and cross-browser compatibility.
