This position oversees the Accounts Receivable (AR) function within a Centre of Excellence, covering both Cash Application and Billing. The role involves managing a team of 10+ members at varying levels, ensuring operational accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while driving process improvements and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage AR operations, including Cash Application (remittance processing, account clearing, discrepancy analysis, and bank statement management) and Billing (invoice issuance, dispute resolution, and root cause analysis).
- Oversee team activities such as recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, career development, and workload planning.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end closing tasks.
- Monitor, prepare, and present KPI reports, ensuring adherence to compliance requirements and company policies.
- Review manual journal entries related to billing (revenue/cost accrual/deferral).
- Maintain and update SOPs in alignment with organizational standards.
- Act as the key contact for stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Procurement, Collections, and other functions to resolve AR-related issues.
- Drive process improvement, standardization, automation, and system enhancement initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Lead and support small-scale projects within the AR scope.
- Perform other ad hoc responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW) are an advantage.
- Minimum 6 years of accounting/audit experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and prior experience in a shared services environment preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, JDE, Blackline, or Business Warehouse is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Adaptable, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
