Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Finance Manager to join our team in the metal/copper rod industry. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong background in financial management within a manufacturing or production environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and supporting key audit and tax functions.
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Book Closing:
Lead the end-to-end book closing process.
Prepare and manage the preparation of accurate financial statements.
Audit & Compliance Management:
Serve as a key point of contact for all finance-related audits.
Manage and respond to queries from statutory auditors.
Prepare and ensure the timely submission of audit schedules and all necessary documentation.
Ensure all audit findings are addressed and closed promptly.
Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
Ensure full compliance with relevant accounting standards, reporting requirements, and statutory regulations (e.g., Companies Act).
Vendor & Payables Oversight:
Supervise the entire vendor payment process from invoice receipt and verification to data entry, filing, follow-ups, and reconciliation.
Ensure timely and accurate vendor management at the central level.
Monitor and take corrective action on disputed bills or those exceeding resolution timelines to expedite closure.
Tax & Consolidation Support:
Assist the reporting manager in tax computations and financial consolidation tasks.
Risk Reporting & Issue Resolution:
Identify and report risk-related issues to the Audit Committee, providing necessary updates and documentation.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of solid, hands-on experience in a Finance or Business Development role.
Proven experience and specialization in a manufacturing or production environment is a must.
Prior experience in a Copper Rod Manufacturing Plant, Metal Industries, or SMS Conti Rod is highly preferred.
Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Professional Certificates such as ACCA or CIMA are preferred.
Skills:
Well-versed in finance and audit matters.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Demonstrate a collaborative mindset.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with the SAP system is an added advantage.
