about the role
They are currently looking for a HR Manager to join the team in Penang Your responsibilities include but not limited to the following areas:-
- Partner with plant management to align HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring compliance with global and local HR policies and legal standards.
- Lead recruitment, selection, training, and succession planning to build a strong talent pipeline and ensure employees have the skills needed for current and future roles.
- Drive a performance-based culture through effective appraisal systems and fair, competitive compensation practices.
- Enhance workplace culture by leading employee engagement initiatives and developing clear internal communication channels (e.g., town halls, newsletters).
- Manage HR budgets, monitor expenditures, and oversee HR service providers (e.g., transport, foreign workers, hostels) to ensure cost-effective and compliant operations.
about the manager/team
Reporting to the CHRO and local GM, you will be leading a team of 5.
skills & experience required
To be the ideal candidate for this role, you will come with at least 10 years of both strategic and operational expertise, strong leadership and communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset. Well-versed in local labor laws and global HR standards, with a proven ability to align HR strategies with business goals. Skilled in budget planning, financial management, and cost control. Familiarity with automotive standards (IATF, RBA, ISO) is an advantage.
