- Research new ingredients, formulations, and delivery technologies to drive innovation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, production, and quality teams to align on product development.
- Oversee product testing, including stability, bioavailability, and clinical validation where required.
- Manage cost-effectiveness of raw materials and establish strong supplier/contract manufacturer partnerships.
- Stay up to date with market and scientific trends to support product innovation.
- Supervise and mentor a team of scientists and product developers.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and product specifications.
qualifications
- Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related discipline.
- Junior level: 1–3 years of experience in R&D, preferably in nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food industry.
- Senior/Manager level: 5+ years of R&D experience with proven leadership in product development.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP, DSHEA, NSF).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience in novel product formulation (functional foods, advanced supplements).
- Knowledge of clinical trial design and scientific research methods.
- Hands-on experience in encapsulation, flavor systems, or bioavailability enhancement.
- Familiarity with intellectual property and patent processes.
