We are looking for an experienced and creative R&D Manager to lead the research and development team. The ideal candidate will drive new product development, enhance existing formulations, and ensure that all R&D activities comply with regulatory and halal requirements. This is a key leadership position within the organization, supporting both innovation and operational excellence.

key responsibilities

Lead new product development (NPD) projects from concept to commercialization, including formulation, pilot trials, sensory testing, and scale-up.
Improve existing products for quality, taste, consistency, and cost optimization.
Ensure compliance with local and international food safety and halal standards (MOH, JAKIM, FSSC 22000, ISO, HACCP, etc.).
Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as product specifications, allergen declarations, and compliance reports.
Research market and consumer trends to identify new product and packaging opportunities.
Manage and mentor the R&D team to foster innovation, efficiency, and accountability.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders — Production, QA/QC, Procurement, and Sales & Marketing — to ensure project feasibility and timely delivery.
Oversee R&D budget and resources to achieve optimal performance and ROI.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in food product development, including at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Proven success in launching new products within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of food formulation, sensory evaluation, and product stability.
Familiarity with FSSC 22000, ISO, HACCP, and halal certification standards.
Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Innovative mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
