About the Role
Seeking a SEO Manager to spearhead the Search Engine Optimization department. This critical role involves developing and executing sophisticated SEO strategies, leading and mentoring a team of specialists and writers, and serving as the primary consultant for the clients. You'll be responsible for driving significant ranking and traffic improvements across a portfolio of client websites.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end SEO strategies for clients, covering technical, on-page, off-page, and content optimization.
- Perform thorough keyword research, competitive analysis, and map search intent to guide strategy.
- Set quarterly OGSMs (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Measures) to track and drive client success.
- Recommend site architecture improvements, content frameworks, and long-term optimization roadmaps.
- Lead and mentor a team of up to four, including SEO strategists, junior analysts, and content writers.
- Allocate tasks, manage project timelines, enforce SOPs, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Conduct weekly team meetings to track performance and provide progress updates.
- Ensure rigorous quality control for all deliverables, including audits, content outlines, and reports.
- Participate in client onboarding, monthly reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
- Simplify complex SEO insights into actionable, business-relevant recommendations.
- Report on ranking growth, traffic trends, GA4 metrics, and strategic SEO outcomes.
- Identify upselling opportunities, including Google Ads, content packages, and website improvements.
- Oversee technical audits (Core Web Vitals, crawlability, indexing) and collaborate with development teams on site fixes, redirections, sitemaps, schema markup, and speed optimizations.
- Monitor Google Search Console for indexing issues, errors, and keyword performance.
- Direct content strategy, topical mapping, and ensure adherence to search intent and E-E-A-T standards.
- Analyze performance metrics using GSC, GA4, Ahrefs, SERanking, and Screaming Frog.
- Prepare monthly SEO reports highlighting successes, risks, and actionable next steps.
- Track ranking fluctuations, traffic anomalies, and team KPIs.
- Maintain high standards across all SEO activities and deliverables.
- Continuously refine department SOPs, templates, and training materials.
- Stay up-to-date with Google algorithm changes and introduce innovative strategies to the team.
- Conduct internal workshops to enhance the team’s SEO expertise and knowledge.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior SEO Specialist, Strategist, or Team Lead within a digital agency or similar high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a small team (e.g., 3-5 individuals).
- Deep expertise in developing and executing full-funnel SEO strategies (technical, content, on-page, and off-page).
- Expert-level proficiency with industry-standard SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog).
- Excellent client-facing consultation and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex data.
- Comprehensive knowledge of content strategy, E-E-A-T principles, and P.R. linking strategies.
- Demonstrable experience collaborating with web development teams on technical implementation.
- Exceptional analytical skills and proficiency in producing detailed performance reports.
