About the role
As the Channel Development Executive, you will assist the Channel Development Manager in integrating channel and retailer strategies with the company's brand and category objectives. Acting as a key link between the internal brand marketing team and the external distributor team, you will be responsible for the hands-on execution of channel marketing plans.
Key responsibilities
Channel & Category Sales
Deliver against the in-market sales targets for the assigned channel and category.
Track channel sales performance and manage trade spend to ensure it remains within the allocated budget.
Drive the successful implementation of channel strategies through the distributor network.
Price and Promotion Management
Review, analyze, and recommend for approval price promotion proposals submitted by the distributor.
Monitor the execution of promotions and conduct post-promotion evaluations to measure effectiveness.
Manage and track the promotional budget, reconciling actual spending against commitments on a quarterly basis.
Trade Marketing & Merchandising
Collaborate with the brand team and distributor to develop and execute trade marketing activities.
Develop essential trade support materials, including Point of Sales Materials (POSMs) and sales brochures.
Assist in managing in-store display and merchandising programs, ensuring compliance and effective execution.
Liaise between the brand team and distributor to support in-store displays with necessary POSMs and dress-ups.
Analysis & Administration
Consolidate weekly sales reports for internal sharing.
Perform pricing analysis and work with agencies to track and report on competitive pricing in the market.
Maintain and update key administrative reports, including retailer rate cards, trading terms, and agreements.
Requirements
A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Candidates with SPM/STPM and 10 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
At least 1-3 years of working experience in trade marketing, category management, or sales, preferably within the FMCG industry.
Proactive, self-motivated, and possessing strong analytical skills with a proficiency in numbers.
Proficient in English and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong ability to cooperate and communicate effectively with internal colleagues and external distributor partners.
