About the Role
We are seeking a commercially-minded Trade Marketing Manager to lead the commercial performance and market execution for a portfolio of FMCG products. This role plays a pivotal part in aligning brand strategies with go-to-market plans, managing distributor dynamics, and driving sustainable growth within the Malaysian retail landscape. You will work closely with sales and brand teams to ensure smooth implementation of activations and product initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of channel-specific strategies and trade marketing plans across ATL, BTL, and in-store platforms.
Collaborate closely with sales and commercial teams to align brand strategies with on-channel promotions and go-to-market execution.
Manage in-store marketing tools, including POSMs, product displays, and promotional materials to drive visibility.
Monitor brand and sales performance, generate business reviews, and recommend growth strategies based on consumer insights.
Oversee A&P and trade budget allocations, tracking expenditures to ensure cost efficiency and ROI.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external agencies—including P.R. and creative partners—to ensure timely rollout of marketing activities.
Support new product development (NPD) and product relaunches, ensuring effective trade sell-in and distribution.
Prepare post-mortem reports for campaigns and provide actionable recommendations for channel improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
6–8 years of experience in FMCG marketing, specifically within trade marketing or distributor management.
Strong commercial mindset with experience in data-driven strategy and Malaysian retail dynamics.
Proven track record in executing 360° campaigns and managing successful product launches.
Excellent stakeholder management, coordination, and agency management skills.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
