Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Governance: Act as the central focal point for corporate, indirect, and withholding tax filings across international entities to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Strategic Projects: Lead the tax considerations for M&A, restructuring, refinancing, and other strategic initiatives, ensuring all positions are documented and defensible.
Transfer Pricing (TP) Coordination: Manage the preparation of TP documentation and periodic adjustments while aligning intercompany transactions with the Group’s evolving operating model.
Tax Disputes: Coordinate global responses to tax audits, enquiries, and disputes, ensuring high-quality submissions and a consistent narrative across jurisdictions.
Regulatory Monitoring: Maintain oversight of international tax developments, such as BEPS/Pillar Two, and translate these requirements into actionable steps for local teams.
Capability Building: Strengthen internal processes, controls, and standard templates to improve documentation discipline and build technical capability within local finance teams.
Requirements
Education & Professional Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, supplemented by a professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent).
Experience: 8+ years of relevant tax experience in a regional in-house role or within a professional tax advisory firm.
Technical Depth: Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following areas: corporate income tax (including WHT), indirect taxes (GST/VAT/SST) across multiple jurisdictions, or transfer pricing policy and implementation.
Cross-Border Expertise: Solid experience managing regional structures, including PE (Permanent Establishment) risks, intercompany financing, and service charge impacts.
Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to lead multi-country workstreams with external advisors and diverse local finance teams.
Core Competencies: A methodical and organized approach to managing deadlines across time zones, paired with the ability to connect tax positions to operational outcomes.
