Role Overview
We are seeking a pioneering and strategic Group HR Manager to establish and lead the human resources function for our expanding natural resources and primary processing group. As the first dedicated HR professional for the organization, you will have the unique opportunity to build the HR department from the ground up, transitioning the group from basic administration to a strategic, centralized people function.
Key ResponsibilitiesGreenfield HR Setup: Design and implement the group’s first comprehensive HR Manual, encompassing recruitment policies, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Strategic Generalist Leadership: Oversee the full spectrum of HR functions across multiple sites, including manpower planning, compensation and benefits, and industrial relations.
Total Rewards Framework: Establish a structured pay grading system and salary matrix to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness across the group’s diverse workforce.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Create a centralized recruitment and induction process to attract skilled technical talent and ensure a consistent onboarding experience.
Performance & Productivity: Introduce the group’s first formal Performance Management System (PMS), moving toward objective-based results and productivity-linked wage schemes.
Industrial Relations & Compliance: Ensure all group entities are fully compliant with the Employment Act and local labor regulations, handling all disciplinary, grievance, and documentation processes.
Culture & Engagement: Act as a change agent to cultivate a professional, high-performing corporate culture through structured staff engagement and internal communication channels.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Economics, or a related field.
Experience: At least 5 years of HR experience, with a proven track record in manufacturing or heavy industry environments.
Startup Mindset: Previous experience in "setting up" an HR department or leading significant change management initiatives is highly desirable.
Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Malaysian Labour Law, IR case law, and payroll processing.
Communication: Exceptional command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to engage effectively with both site-level workers and C-suite executives.
