The Regional Legal Counsel will work closely with the Regional SEA Legal team to ensure the business is given accurate and timely legal advice, and does business in compliance with local and global Randstad policies & applicable legislation. This role involves several key responsibilities:
Legal and Contract review/ advisory, acting as a legal business partner, the counsel will provide accurate & timely legal advice to the business regarding local legal requirements in Singapore, Hong Kong & Malaysia. Taking lead in reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, leading negotiations with external parties, and ensure compliance with Randstad's policies.
Data Protection and Compliance, support legal and regulatory compliance across all regional operations, ensuring adherence to both local laws and internal global policies. Contribute to the broader legal function by supporting risk management activities and sharing legal knowledge.
Assist with providing training on legal topics for Randstad’s staff in Malaysia, Singapore & Hong Kong & preparing educational/training material including legal newsletters/bulletins. They'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, support knowledge management, and mitigate legal risks.
Litigation and Regulatory Support, when required disputes and legal compliance across operations in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia will be essential.
about the requirements
- Law degree & professional legal qualification (as defined by the Legal Profession Qualifying Board of Malaysia).
- Good knowledge of contract law, and experience in either data protection, employment law or general litigation would be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin at a conversational and business-correspondence level. This skill will be used occasionally to review emails and/or contracts from our Hong Kong teams/Clients from Mainland China.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience level: 5-6 years. Previous experience in a regional role and/or corporate/commercial background (whether in-house/law firm) is an added advantage.
- Candidates should be highly motivated, independent, resourceful and have a good work ethic.
- Ability to work well in a team & collaborate with colleagues from the legal function & within the business.
