About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Trade Marketing Manager to lead the General Trade (GT) channel strategy. This role plays a pivotal part in driving brand growth, ensuring that marketing strategies are effectively translated into on-ground commercial performance. You will work closely with sales teams and brand principals to lead channel-specific activations and drive sustainable growth within the traditional retail landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning and execution of trade marketing strategies specifically tailored for the General Trade (GT) channel.
Collaborate closely with sales and commercial teams to align on-channel strategies, promotions, and distribution goals.
Manage the development and rollout of in-store marketing tools, including POSMs, product displays, and visibility items.
Monitor and analyze channel performance, sales data, and competitor activities to generate actionable insights.
Oversee the trade A&P budget, tracking expenditures and ROI to ensure cost efficiency.
Coordinate with external partners and P.R. agencies to ensure high-quality execution of trade-related communications.
Prepare detailed post-mortem reports for trade campaigns and provide recommendations for future improvements.
Manage and mentor the trade marketing team to foster a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
5–8 years of experience in trade marketing or brand management within the FMCG sector.
Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of Malaysian retail dynamics and General Trade (GT) operations.
Proven track record in executing 360° campaigns and managing large-scale trade activations.
Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making and project management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for performance reporting.
